2016 Food For Others 5k a Success!
This morning, at the Tysons Corner Center Mall, Food For Others had their 3rd annual 5k event. The event was full of energy. And lots people came to support the cause. Below is a picture of the Agent Knows Homes Team! We do more than just helping people buy and sell homes in Virginia, Maryland and Washington DC. We like to stay healthy and support great local causes too!
The race course was 2 and a little more times around the mall’s exterior. You can see it at the Food For Others race website, www.FoodForOthers.org/5k
It is my understanding that there were over 400 participants this year. And possibly very close to 500. Have to say participants because not all are runners. Many walk the course as well. I find that 5k events are great for getting access to areas that you don’t normally have access to. The race course is closed off to cars and others. This amount of participants for Food For Others 3rd annual event will make it the most yet! Which is great. I remember the first event had less than 200 people. So Awesome to see the support growing. In particular some of the corporate teams really got involved this year. I believe Kaiser was the top team in terms of the number of participants.

Thank you to all the great sponsors who helped support this worthy organization. Food For Others needs all the support it can get. Even though Fairfax County Schools are some of the most acclaimed in the country. There are still a huge number of children who are on the free lunch program. One of the things does Food For Others does is their P3, or Power Pack Program, making weekends worth of food for kids on the free lunch program. This supports 29 local elementary schools. And there are more on the waiting list.
The need is there. Thank you again to all sponsors and participants in joining us in supporting Food For Others!
