2014 Merrifield Festival at the Mosaic District
Yesterday the Merrifield Festival was lots of fun at the Mosaic District. Plenty of booths, food stands and food trucks, a variety of beverages for adults, kids games and rides, at least one politician and lots of local people.
The Merrifield Festival was held on Saturday, October 18th, 2014. It was hosted by the Greater Merrifield Business Association (GBMA). Founded in 1984, they are a local non-profit organization for the purpose of bringing together local business and professional men and women in the Greater Merrifield area. The main goal is to support local community, reach local officials, and represent the views of local business people.
The Merrifield Festival, also known as the Merrifield Fall Festival, is one of two main events the GBMA puts on annually. The other event is their Taste of Merrifield Festival, which was held May 3rd this year.

I hadn’t actually planned on attending the Merrifield Fall Festival, but we needed to hit Target for a variety of needs. When we arrived at the Target garage and saw from the electronic sign that the entire 3rd floor level was full. It became apparent that something was going on. That and the stage and people milling around the main fountain area in front of the Angelica theater and Matchbox restaurant.
There was definitely some good positive energy at the Mosaic District for this event. It is a great location to hold the Festival as well. As the Mosaic District is right near the border of Vienna, Falls Church, and Fairfax. All three are great areas in Northern Virginia.
