Like its name suggests, most of the single family homes are Colonial style. Large and spacious red brick and stone builds make up this charming neighborhood. There is not much outside traffic flowing through the neighborhood and there are roughly 1500 residents residing here, including D.C.’s very own Mayor Muriel Bowser. Residents often receive visits from families of deer across their well maintained lawns. Some of the more expansive homes include pools. Most of the real estate in Colonial Village is occupied by the owners and some who have even lived in their homes for at least 30 years.

Sights to See

If you are a hiker, you will delight in the wonderful trails at Rock Creek park very close by. The drive alone is enough to appreciate the scenic beach on the outskirts of Colonial Village. It may be a quiet community, however, it is still close enough to enjoy shops and restaurants. Nearby is Peet’s Coffee & Tea, Blairs Shopping Center, and Giant Food. Downtown Bethesda has a great laundry list of shops, dining, and service outlets that are also in very close proximity. Minutes from Colonial Village is downtown Silver Spring shopping, the metro, and 495.
