Food For Others Feeding Northern Virginia
It’s important to me to contribute to the community. I’ve been fortunate over the years to become connected with Food For Others. Like real estate, my business, it’s a basic need. People need a place to live, and they need to eat.
Food For Others is a great local non-profit organization. They focus on helping those in need. They have ongoing food assistance programs, emergency programs, and they also go to 9+ locations across Fairfax County and Arlington County to deliver food.
These two counties are some of the most affluent nationwide, and yet there is a tremendous amount of need that most people are truly unaware of. In Fairfax County 1 in 4 school children qualify for the free lunch program.
Through it’s basic programs Food For Others looks to support those people, families and children in need. They also have developed a Power Pack or P3 program that allows groups to collect food, and create it in to a weekends worth of food for the children on the free lunch program at local schools. This is because they often don’t have a free lunch at home on the weekend. These packs are a weekends worth food: 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 2 snacks, 2 drinks and 2 dinners. And it all fits in a gallon ziploc bag.
Need has risen this year. Food for Others serves approximately 600 families a day, and it’s goal is to help even more.
I encourage you to make a difference with this great organization. They are always in need of donations of Food, Time, or Money. Even a little bit you can do now can make a difference. Thank you.

When our clients move, whether they are buying or selling a home, we offer to take unwanted pantry items over to Food For Others. This helps those in need, and prevents good food from getting discarded.
